Custify Okta SSO Setup Guide

This guide walks you through setting up Single Sign-On (SSO) with Okta for your Custify account. Once configured, your team members can log in to Custify using their Okta credentials, streamlining access and improving security.

What is Okta and Why Use It?

Okta is an identity and access management (IAM) platform. It acts as a secure gateway for your employees to access applications, including Custify, with just one set of login credentials.

Benefits of using Okta SSO with Custify:

Simplified access: Team members don’t need separate usernames and passwords for Custify.
Increased security: Centralized identity management reduces the risk of password reuse and unauthorized access.
Improved IT efficiency: User provisioning and deactivation are managed from a single place in Okta.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

Administrator access to your organization’s Okta account;
Administrator access to your Custify account.

Step 1: Create a New Application in Okta

Log in to your Okta Admin Dashboard:
- Go to https://YOUR_DOMAIN.okta.com/admin (replace YOUR_DOMAIN with your Okta domain).
- Sign in with administrator credentials.
Create a new application:
- Navigate to Applications > Applications in the left sidebar.
- Click Create App Integration.
- Select OIDC – OpenID Connect as the sign-in method.
- Choose Web Application as the application type.
- Click Next.
Configure application settings:
- App integration name: Enter a name (e.g., Custify).
- Logo (optional): Upload your company logo.
- Grant type: Ensure Authorization Code is checked.
- Sign-in redirect URIs: https://app.custify.com/auth/sso-callback/okta
- Sign-out redirect URIs: https://app.custify.com/login?logout=true
- Controlled access: Choose whether to allow all users or restrict to specific groups.
- Click Save.

Step 2: Gather Required Information

After creating the application, collect the following information for Custify:

Okta Domain
- Example: company.okta.com
- Found in your Okta admin dashboard URL.
Client ID
- Go to Applications > Applications in your Okta Admin Dashboard.
- Select the Custify application you just created.
- Copy the Client ID under Client Credentials.
Client Secret
- Found on the same page as the Client ID.
- Copy the Client Secret under Client Credentials.
- Important: The secret is shown only once during creation or when regenerated. Save it securely.

Step 3: Configure Okta SSO in Custify

Log in to Custify with an administrator account.
Go to Account Settings > Single Sign-On.
Select Okta as your SSO provider.
Enter the information you gathered from Okta:
- Okta Domain: Your Okta domain (e.g., company.okta.com)
- Client ID: The Client ID from Okta
- Client Secret: The Client Secret from Okta.

Once configured:

Your team members will see the option to sign in with Okta when logging in to Custify.
Access to Custify will be managed directly in your Okta account, giving you centralized control.
